Ensenada Police

So, here we are in Ensenada, stuck. Due to a bent propshafts, leaky steering lines, a broken shift cable, a dead autopilot, rough weather, a funeral, and health problems, we didn’t make it far enough south fastenough. We will sit out hurricane season in Ensenada rather than in Puerto Vallarta.

We are enjoying it. There is still a lot to do on the boat and there is a lot to do for fun in Ensenada. Today was Tamiko’s birthday and we went out to dinner and to a movie. Movies are about 1/2 the price of California and dinner was even less.

Walking back to the marina from the theater we saw a couple cars pulled over on the side of the road. One had a group of young men and the other a group of young women inside. I was immediately worried for all of them. I wasn’t worried that they were in trouble, rather I was concerned that they would soon be in trouble. There are many police in Ensenada. In California you DO NOT pull over on the side of the road to talk to some friends on a Friday night. If you do, the cops will probably be all over you in no time. I was afraid for no reason. This is Mexico, amigo. No problem.

No problem.
