Yesterday Eli and I were inflating our warranty replacement dinghy as a really nice catamaran was coming in to the dock at Paradise Village Marina. We walked over to help them and they tossed us some lines. I cleated off the bow so that they could use that line to turn the boat on and as they came around the lady on deck threw Eli the amidships spring line. He took a turn around the cleat and layed down a perfect cleat hitch. The lady said “How long have you guys been on your boat?” Eli said “I dunno, a year or two, why?” “Because that is just a perfect cleat hitch. Thanks.”
We were both glad that he knew exactly what to do.
A perfect cleat hitch isn’t that easy to find walking the docks.
