We have the mast down, we took it down last Tuesday and we have an appointment to have it re-stepped this Tuesday. Almost everything that could be wrong with the hardware, electrical, or running rigging was wrong. We’ve had a hard week getting everything prepared but we’re almost done with this stage and tomorrow shouldn’t be too hard. The head is completed. Wee installed a waste tank, fixed and attached the toilet, installed a shower, relocated the sump pump and many more things that I’ve forgotten. This boat is almost ready to live on comfortably with everything working. This is exciting.
Tonight I’m just hanging out on the boat perusing the interweb and enjoying the motion of the boat. Have you ever seen Waterworld? Towards the end Kevin Costner’s character says that he doesn’t like Dry Land because it doesn’t move right. Well I feel the same way, all three of us do. Land is annoying. You grow accustomed to the lovely motion of the boat in the water and then you find yourself swaying around on land like an idiot. You see, on the boat you just kind of let it flow. You don’t really try to stay perfectly upright because you can’t anyway so you just go with the motion and it’ll rock back the other way in a minute and everything will be fine.
There’s a metaphor for life there somewhere but I’m too tired to unstitch it.
