Yep, the trusty Perkins diesel started right up.
Right after a week of running around looking for plumbing parts and electrical parts and more plumbing parts to hook it all up to the boat and to attach all of it’s various pieces together.
Then a weekend of cleaning fuel and treating fuel to no avail and bleeding fuel filters and pumps and injectors, but after those couple of little things it started right up.
We celebrated with dinner out at our favorite cheap Chinese restaurant, the 8th Street Cafe. The salt & pepper fried smelts come with all of their parts still intact, we learned.
BUUUUT, the engine runs perfectly. Perfect.
hey you three!! we’ve been checking in regularly to read the newest blogs, seems as though you guys are chugging along? How is Eli? Does he miss us?? we miss you three so much.. sometimes, I find myself staring off into nowhere, wondering if you guys are thinking about us! So lately, Rafe has been clapping, dancing and beginning to say a few words.. THANK GOD HE!! HE ISN’T SLOW!! hahahaa! As far as Jake and I, we are doing great, still at the house in Pismo, I am flying to Texas on August 23rd to audition for American Idol!! I’ve been practicing my singing everyday, so dang nervous!!
Also, since you guys have left, that back lot has been a little hub for the cemetary hobos!! we had a few REALLLY crazy ones threatening Kyle and Junior!! so in that aspect, we really miss the security!!!
A few weeks ago, Jake and John went out fishing, Jake got sea-sick and threw up over the side of the boat!!! hahahaa!
Well, I guess thats about all the news I have for you guys, we miss you three so much and can’t wait to meet up again soon!!! Love you guys!
Hey Stevie–the fried smelt with all their parts attached–they’re really quite delicious. I always try to cook fish that way. You just have to remove the “dark streak” along the backbone. It tastes really fishy. The head of course, is yummy. This is what separates real men from…seals, I guess. Anyway, I like it.
Glad to hear everything is going so well & that the motor works. Motors are good; winds are fickle.
Later, Paul (Hi Tamiko & Eli)
