First Night

We slept aboard last night, the first time since right after Eli got the tracheostomy about 12 1/2 years ago. It was the first good night’s sleep that I’ve had in many years. You just can’t sleep like this anywhere else. This boat has the most seakindly motion and in fact it’s even nicer on board when it’s windy rather than calm, at least for sleeping while tied up at the dock. It’s much quieter at night than out Cross trimaran ever was. I’m excited to go to bed tonight too because I know I’ll sleep well again. The old trusty camper that we’ve been living in just doesn’t feel like home anymore, it feels cold and creepy and lonely. The TV and the Playstation are still over there in the boatyard but Eli doesn’t want to go over there now, not even to play videogames. This boat is such a nice comfy home. Warm polished wood all around and lovely sea sounds day and night.
